An investment in the ABC Political Action Committee (PAC) is an investment in your business
Since its creation, ABC Political Action Committee (PAC) has grown to be one of the largest, most principled PACs in the nation. The sole purpose of ABC PAC is to collect voluntary contributions from the executive and administrative personnel of ABC member firms for the purpose of electing champions of the Merit Shop to the United States House of Representatives and Senate and to the Office of President of the United States.
When you give to ABC PAC, you become part of a powerful collective of Americans running small businesses. These donations go farther than they would if they were given as individual contributions to a candidate, because ABC PAC is able to speak with a powerful, unified voice articulating the fundamental belief in free enterprise and open competition.
In 2008, ABC PAC broke its annual and election cycle fundraising records with the support of its contributors. For the first time in its 30 year history, ABC PAC raised over $1 million in a single year. Combined with 2007, ABC PAC raised over $2.1 million for the 2007-2008 election cycle. This was an increase of more than $350,000 over the previous election cycle. As a result, ABC PAC was the second largest construction related PAC, right behind the National Association of Home Builders.
Because of this, ABC PAC was able to contribute to the presidential campaign of John McCain, almost 200 candidates running for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, 54 Leadership PACs, 4 National Party Committees, and the federal accounts of 16 state parties. This enabled ABC PAC to be the fifth largest contributor to pro business candidates at the federal level. Contributions to ABC PAC are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes. Contributions to ABC PAC are for political purposes. All contributions to ABC PAC are voluntary. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal. The proposed contribution amounts are merely suggestions; you may choose to contribute more or less or not at all. ABC will not favor or disadvantage anyone by reason of the amount contributed or the decision whether to contribute. Federal law requires political committees to report the name, address, occupation, and name of employer for each individual whose contributions aggregate in excess of $200 in a calendar year. Federal law prohibits corporate contributions. Associated Builders and Contractors Political Action Committee, 4250 North Fairfax Drive, 9th Floor, Arlington, VA 22203.
