ABC SoCal Philosophy

ABC SoCal Philosophy
ABC of Southern California (ABC SoCal) was founded in 1974 in southern California. We started our first training center in 1992 in Chino, CA which was 3,500 square feet with 2 training classrooms and one lab area. At that time we had 6 staff members along with 300 students. In 1993, we offered our first apprenticeship program, electrical, not to mention we were one of the first to offer a non-union apprenticeship program in California.
Two years later in 1995 we started our plumbing apprenticeship program to increase our training. In 1998 we also started our carpentry apprenticeship program, which has since closed. Over the years we slowly opened 8 other training facilities  in different locations such as Palm Desert, Riverside, East Los Angeles and Placentia. On March 28, 1996 our chapter became accredited through the National Center for Construction Education and Reach. With the growth ABC SoCal was experiencing, we moved to Anaheim, CA in May 1999 to be more accessible to the majority of our members.
In April 2004 we moved into our current building, renting 35,000 sq. feet of office and training space. We then consolidated all of our training into our new facility. In 2011 we launched our three new apprenticeship programs: EST (Low Voltage), HVAC and Sheet Metal. To accommodate our new apprenticeship programs, we bought the entire building in May 2011 and now own a facility that is 55,000 sq. feet, with a huge lab area that is 12,852 sq. feet and has 10 classrooms.
Today ABC SoCal 16 staff members, 20 instructors, 11 lab technicians and almost 800 students. Since 1993 we have had over 1,500 people graduate successfully from our chapter and will continue to have many more in the future. To help better the quality of construction being done in California, we offer Electrical, EST (Low Voltage), Plumbing, and Sheet Metal apprenticeship and craft training programs.
ABC SoCal also offers continuing education, Prevailing Wage, Management and Safety training for both our members and nonmembers. ABC SoCal continues to grow as an organization and is committed to train the Best-of-the-Best for the entire construction industry!
